Together with our strong partner Bimed we at RST have collaborated with customers from the sensor, connector and robotics sectors to develop an innovative EMC cable gland in which the shielding terminates within the gland itself.
What is new about this design is that, beneath the clamping cage, there is a type of coil spring instead of a rigid plastic sleeve, as has traditionally been the case with this type of screw-type connector. The major advantage of this is that the shielding can be fitted and connected much more easily, quickly and reliably. The solution is also very competitively priced.
When production begins in the second quarter of 2026, we will initially offer the new Euro-Top EMV ONE in two M16 versions, as well as in sizes M20, M25 and M32, to provide optimal coverage of clamping ranges between 4 and 21 mm. Certification to UL 514B is, of course, included.
A familiar concept reimagined and developed for customers
Installing the new Euro-Top EMV ONE is this simple:
- Strip the cable
- Separate the components of the cable gland
- Slide the cap onto the cable
- Trim the cable shield
- Bend the cable shield 90 degrees
- Press the cap onto the cable gland, turning it firmly as you do so

This eliminates the need for time-consuming brushing or preparation of the cable shielding braid, as well as the need to bend the shielding prior to final assembly, as is required with comparable EMC cable glands. Nevertheless, full-surface contact with the cable shield is guaranteed at all times, which is crucial for optimum shielding performance.
Like all EMC-compliant cable glands from RST’s Euro-Top series, the new EMC ONE also features four key characteristics:
- Excellent electromagnetic shielding right up to high frequency ranges
- Strain relief in accordance with EN 62 444
- Sealing in accordance with protection classes IP 66, IP 68 and IP 69
- Easy handling and installation
EMC stands for ElectroMagnetic Compatibility. According to the EU Directive, this refers to “the ability of equipment to operate satisfactorily in its electromagnetic environment without itself causing electromagnetic disturbances that would be unacceptable to other equipment in the same environment.” EMC screw connections therefore protect against electromagnetic interference and make a crucial contribution to the fault-free operation of machinery and systems. In an era of ever-increasing automation and digitalisation, this is an indispensable consideration.
